View full detailsAshland multipoint locks operate using concealed vertical rods that extend from the lock body into the top and bottom of the door frame, creating multiple secure locking points without visible hardware on the door edge. This system is found in both residential and commercial applications, with variations designed for specific manufacturers. MPLocks carries the core lock bodies and extensions needed to repair or replace Ashland concealed rod systems, including the popular Sentinel Swing XP25 series used by Jeld-Wen and Therma-Tru doors.
Unlike edge-mounted multipoint locks with visible faceplates running the length of the door, Ashland concealed rod systems hide the locking mechanism inside the door panel. The shootbolt rods thread into couplings at the top and bottom of the lock body, extending into strike pockets in the frame when engaged. This design is particularly common on Marvin Ultimate doors and provides a streamlined appearance while maintaining three-point security. The lock bodies in this collection feature standard 60mm and 70mm backsets with 92mm PZ spacing for handle placement.
While Ashland hardware appears in doors from several manufacturers, not all lock bodies are interchangeable. The collection includes specific lock bodies for Marvin Ultimate inswing and outswing doors, Jeld-Wen and Caradco applications, Peachtree doors requiring radius faceplates, and PGT passive panel locks. Identifying your door manufacturer and measuring your existing lock's backset and handle spacing helps ensure you select the correct replacement. Some locks include attached faceplates while others require separate cover plates for a finished installation.
When replacing an Ashland multipoint lock, start by measuring the backset from the door edge to the center of the handle spindle hole—most units in this collection use either a 2-3/8 inch (60mm) or 2-3/4 inch (70mm) backset. The PZ measurement, which is the distance from the handle center to the cylinder center, is typically 3-5/8 inches (92mm) for Ashland systems. Also note whether your existing lock has a radius or square faceplate end, as this varies by manufacturer. For shootbolt extensions, measure your door height and handle height to select the correct length extension that will reach the frame strike properly.
