Ashland Cylinder Tailpiece – 1-1/2" (395033)

This Ashland cylinder tailpiece allows you to adapt your existing 1-3/4 inch thick door trim set to work properly with your door. When using standard 1-3/4 inch trim, the screws, spindle, and cylinder tailpiece may not be long enough for proper operation. This replacement tailpiece solves that problem.

The tailpiece measures 1-1/2 inches (38.1mm) in length and is designed for doors that are 1-3/4 inches (44.5mm) thick.

Installation Instructions

  • Remove key from cylinder
  • Depress the spring-loaded pin and unscrew the cap (be careful not to lose the spring or pin)
  • Switch the existing tailpiece with the replacement
  • Place cap back in place and screw on until the spring-loaded pin catches a groove in the cap
  • Depress pin and screw all the way down, then back 2 notches in cap

  • If the key turns hard, the cap is too tight
  • If the key will not come out, the cap is too loose
