Multipoint Lock Replacement Kit for ESSVE 8' Doors (4990614-KIT)

This comprehensive replacement kit is designed to replace original ESSVE multipoint locks on 8 feet 0 inch doors. The kit provides all the essential components needed for a complete lock replacement, including the lower gear with hook, upper extension with hook, and stainless steel installation screws.

The replacement lock features a 60mm backset (slightly larger than the original 55mm), 92mm PZ, and a 20mm faceplate width. The overall length is 81 inches with square ends, and the lock can be trimmed to fit your specific door panel height requirements up to 81-1/8 inches.

Notes

The gearbox will move approximately 3/16 inch due to the backset change from 55mm to 60mm. New trim will cover the original screw holes.
The hook lock boxes will fit back into the mortised groove in the door panel. However, the hooks are positioned slightly differently and may require enlarging the strike plate hole.
Atrium Doors: The original handleset trim for Atrium doors (Euro Cylinder Version) will not work with this replacement. New trim is required.
Marvin / Pease Doors: The original handleset trim for Marvin, Pease, and other doors with American Version locks have installation screw hole spacing of 6-3/8 inches. This trim will work with minor modifications to the lock body cylinder hole where the bottom screw goes through (slightly tight, needs to be enlarged with a rasp). Some Pease doors had different bore hole spacing with 2-3/8 inch wide handleset trim; contact us if this applies to your door.
The lock features an anti-slam/mishandling latch that needs to be pushed in to operate the lock.
To reverse latch handing: extend the deadbolt, pull out the spring latch, and rotate accordingly.

Will my original handleset trim work with this replacement lock?

It depends on your door brand. Atrium doors with Euro Cylinder trim will require new trim. Marvin and Pease doors with American Version trim may work with minor modifications to enlarge the cylinder hole slightly.

Why does the replacement have a different backset than my original ESSVE lock?

The original ESSVE lock has a 55mm backset while the replacement uses a 60mm backset. This causes the gearbox to shift approximately 3/16 inch, but new trim will cover the original holes.

Can I trim this lock to fit my door?

Yes, the lock has square ends and can be trimmed to fit door panel heights up to 81-1/8 inches.
