Pease Multipoint Lock Replacement Kit – 60mm Backset (4990613-KIT)

This custom replacement multipoint lock kit is designed specifically for Pease entry doors that originally used the discontinued ESSVE multipoint lock system. The kit provides a complete 3-point locking solution featuring a deadbolt and two hooks for enhanced security.

The replacement lock has a 2-3/8 inch (60mm) backset, which is 3/16 inches deeper than the original 2-3/16 inch (55mm) Pease specification. This difference means your handleset will shift slightly away from the door edge, potentially revealing paint or stain lines from the original installation.

Important Compatibility Notes

Most original Pease handlesets will not work with this replacement lock due to the backset difference. Pease doors came with two different escutcheon plate widths and bore hole sizes:

• If your escutcheon plate is 1-5/8 inches wide, a new handleset trim with a 2 x 12 inch plate (such as part 395009) will cover the old marks and work with this lock
• If your door has a 2-1/8 inch cross bore and 2-3/8 inch wide trim plates, you will need either a filler plate under the trim or a new handleset with plates at least 2-1/2 inches wide

Lock Operation

To lock the door, lift the handle to extend the deadbolt and hooks, then turn the thumbturn or key to secure in the locked position. The lock features a mis-handing latch that must be pushed in to function properly.

To change handing or reverse the latch: lift the lever to extend the deadbolt and hooks, pull the spring latch out and rotate it to the correct position, then check the function before closing the door.

Notes

The original ESSVE lock had a 68 inch faceplate with radius ends. This replacement is 68-1/8 inches with square ends. The 1/8 inch length difference and square corners should be accounted for during installation.
