Hoppe Inactive FUHR Lock Kit – 77" Caradco (4990238-KIT)

This Hoppe replacement kit is designed to replace the inactive (passive) FUHR multipoint lock found in 77-inch French Caradco doors. The kit includes a gear box, a shorter top shootbolt tip, and a longer bottom shootbolt tip. Trimming is required to achieve the correct handle height and overall lock length for your door.

The lock features a 35mm backset and 92mm PZ. Handle height is adjustable—trim the bottom shootbolt so the handle sits at 35-1/2 inches from the floor. The top shootbolt must also be trimmed to fit the 77-inch door height.

Notes

  • Caution: Lock will be hot after trimming. Do not use an electric saw—lock may discolor and warp.

Can I use an electric saw to trim the lock?

No, do not use an electric saw. The lock will become hot and may discolor or warp. Use a hand saw or appropriate cutting tool.

What if my Caradco door is 93 inches tall?

This kit is for 77-inch doors. For 93-inch inactive Caradco doors, use part 4990239 instead.
