Roto Multipoint Lock Gear – 45mm Backset (40234-45)

This Roto multipoint lock gear box is designed for current-style Roto locks featuring teeth. It is compatible with both roller and tongue version locks, providing a reliable replacement option for your multipoint door hardware.

The lock case features a 1-3/4 inch (45mm) backset with a 5/8 inch (16mm) wide faceplate measuring 15-3/4 inches (400mm) in length. This is the new-style faceplate length – the older style measured 13-3/8 inches.

  • Also Available: 1-3/8 inches (35mm) backset version

Notes

  • The old style with pins and new style with teeth are NOT interchangeable – this lock case only replaces current-style Roto locks
  • Door must be notched out 23/32 inches to accept the new gear box position
  • Strike plate must be lowered 23/32 inches to align with the latch and deadbolt
  • After installation, the latch and deadbolt positions differ from the old style by approximately 25/32 inches – you may need to move the strike plate or extend the slot
  • This gear works ONLY with the 15-3/4 inch faceplate and will NOT directly replace older style gears with the shorter 13-3/8 inch faceplate
  • If replacing an old-style Roto lock, the entire lock assembly must be replaced
