Atrium ESSVE Multipoint Lock (499051799)

This is the original Atrium ESSVE multipoint lock featuring a 68-inch overall length with radius ends. The lock has a 1-3/4 inch (45mm) backset and 3-5/8 inch (92mm) PZ measurement, with a 25/32 inch (20mm) faceplate width. It uses a European style lock cylinder.

The bottom hook is positioned at 26-3/4 inches and the top hook at 33-1/2 inches from the bottom of the faceplate.

Notes

This lock has an anti-slam/mishandling latch that needs to be pushed in to operate
To lock: Lift the handle to extend deadbolt and other locking positions, then turn thumb-turn to secure
To unlock: Turn thumb-turn or key to unlocked position and push down on lever
Spring latch direction can be reversed by extending the deadbolt, pulling out the spring latch, and rotating accordingly

When replacing with the 4990615-KIT, note that the replacement has square ends instead of radius ends and can be trimmed to fit your door panel height. The gear and hook lock boxes will fit into the existing mortised groove, but the hooks are positioned slightly differently (replacement bottom hook at 26 inches, top hook at 32-3/4 inches) and may require slightly enlarging the strike plate hole.

For Atrium doors with the Euro cylinder version, the original handleset trim will not work and new trim will be required. For Marvin and Pease doors with American version locks, the original trim with 6-3/8 inch screw hole spacing will work with minor modifications to the lock body cylinder hole.
