Atrium/Ferco Bottom Gear Lock – 28mm Backset (G-24452-18-L-FG)

This Atrium multipoint lock bottom gear is designed for wooden Atrium doors equipped with Ferco lock systems. It features a 1-1/8 inch (28mm) backset measured from the edge of the faceplate to the center of the handle, with a handle spacing of 2-3/4 inches (70mm) from the center of the thumb turn to the center of the handle.

The lock case measures 7-3/4 x 1-3/4 inches (197mm x 44mm) and includes a 5/8 inch (16mm) wide faceplate. The handle height is positioned at 35 inches (889mm). This unit includes a spring latch only with no deadbolt.

Notes

This is the bottom gear only, not a complete lock system
Modification required for installation: main lock must be cut for height before attaching shootbolt extensions
Spindle may need to be cut to length; brass sleeve may need to be cut in half to retrofit existing handles
To secure handles with new sleeve and spindle: install handles, remove set screw, drill into brass sleeve and spindle, reinstall set screw
Rods must be cut to length during installation
Roller cams do not align with existing strikes and must be relocated
Roller cam positions from center of cam to top of spring latch: 14 inches from top, 12.5 inches from bottom
To remove rollers: grind rivet on back side flush with bar, install lock, then break off roller
Spring latch is handed but can be reversed

Will this work with my existing handles?

The new lock includes a 1/4 inch (7mm) spindle with a brass sleeve to retrofit handles that have a 5/16 inch (8mm) hole. You may need to cut the spindle and sleeve to fit your existing handles.

Can the spring latch be reversed for different door handing?

Yes, the spring latch is handed but can be reversed during installation.
