Hoppe Caradco 93" Door Lock Kit (4990237-KIT)

This Hoppe replacement lock kit is designed to replace the 6-point FUHR multipoint lock found in 93-inch Caradco doors. The original FUHR lock featured both rollers and shootbolts, while this replacement lock includes shootbolts only.

The kit includes a gear box, top shootbolt tip (longer), bottom shootbolt tip (shorter), and middle extension. The handle height is adjustable from 33 to 37 inches, but must be trimmed so the handle sits at 35-1/2 inches to properly replace the Caradco lock. The full lock length is also adjustable and requires trimming to fit the 93-inch door.

Notes

  • This kit is specifically for active 93-inch Caradco doors
  • Caradco also featured a similar lock in 77-inch doors; use part #4990236 for that application
  • Make sure to install the correct shootbolt tip on each end (longer tip on top, shorter on bottom)
  • CAUTION: Lock will be hot after trimming. Do not use an electric saw as the lock will discolor and can warp

Installation

  • Trim approximately 2-1/4 inches off the bottom shootbolt so the handle sits at 35-1/2 inches up the door when connected to the gear box
  • Trim approximately 1-3/4 inches off the top shootbolt so the full lock fits in the 93-inch door

No, do not use an electric saw. The lock will become hot during cutting and can discolor or warp. Use a hand tool instead.
