Notes

  • Manual function: lift handle then turn thumbturn or key to lock; turn thumbturn or key then depress lever to unlock
  • Small mishanding latch must be depressed to operate lock
  • Latch handing can be reversed by inserting a small screwdriver into the hole on the back of the latch, pushing forward, twisting, and releasing

Installation Instructions for Cutting to Length

  • Lay the old lock and new lock side by side to determine length
  • The top shootbolt extension has serrated teeth; the middle extension has a receptacle (coupler) for the teeth to fit into
  • Mark the top extension for proper length
  • Extend the top bolt before cutting
  • With the shootbolt extended (locked position), use a hacksaw to cut off the same amount from the front (smooth side) and back side of the mechanism (serrated teeth)
  • Ensure as many teeth fit into the receptacle as possible; gap between serrated ends must be less than 3 teeth
  • Install cover plate to reinforce connection between middle and upper shootbolt extension
  • Test operation of door BEFORE closing
