Winkhaus OML 3-Hook Replacement Kit – 60/92 (499066009-KIT)

This custom replacement kit is designed for Winkhaus One Motion Lock (OML) single doors with 3 hooks. It provides a solution when the original Winkhaus OML lock is no longer available, though it requires some modification during installation.

The original Winkhaus OML featured the key above the lever. This replacement kit positions the key below the lever, which changes the handle height from the original 36 inches to approximately 38-9/16 inches (979mm) depending on installation. This is an important consideration when planning your replacement.

Lock Operation

To lock the door: Close the door, lift the handle to extend the deadbolt and hooks, then turn the thumbturn or key to secure in the locked position.

To unlock the door: Turn the thumbturn or key to the unlocked position, push down on the lever, and open the door.

Notes

• This is NOT an exact replacement – requires modification during installation
• Upper extension is longer than needed and must be cut with a hacksaw (avoid reciprocating saws as they may discolor the metal)
• Overlay the new lock with the old to determine correct cutting length
• In most installations, new and old hooks will fit in the same door pocket
• Existing handle set can be reused; spindle changes from swivel to solid type
• To cover marks from existing handle set, the lock may need to be raised higher, leaving a gap at the bottom of the extension (can be filled with scrap faceplate material)
• Upper extension has serrated teeth to add an optional shootbolt (not included, may not fit all door heights)
• Extension-to-gearbox screws use T-20 Torx Star Drive heads requiring 12-13 pounds of torque
• If changing handle set trim, notify us before ordering – we suggest the 2 x 12 inch escutcheon plate used with American version cylinder (395007 Traditional or 395009 Modern)

Latch Reversal Instructions

• Push in the small spring latch (mid-handing latch) to operate lock
• Lift lever to extend deadbolt
• Pull spring latch out and rotate to correct position
• Check function of lock before closing door
