Amesbury ESSVE Multipoint Lock Kit – 6' 8" Door (4990615-KIT)

This multipoint lock replacement kit is designed to replace original ESSVE locks found in 6 foot 8 inch entry doors. The kit provides a complete solution for restoring full multipoint lock functionality when your original ESSVE lock has worn out or failed.

The replacement lock features a 45mm (1-3/4 inch) backset, 92mm (3-5/8 inch) PZ handle spacing, and 20mm (25/32 inch) faceplate width. The overall length is 68-1/8 inches and can be trimmed to fit your specific door panel height requirements. Unlike the original ESSVE lock which had radius ends, this replacement features square ends.

The gear and hook lock boxes will fit back into the existing mortised groove in your door panel. Note that the hook positions are slightly different from the original—the bottom hook is at 26 inches (versus the original 26-3/4 inches) and the top hook is at 32-3/4 inches (versus the original 33-1/2 inches). You may need to slightly enlarge the strike plate holes to accommodate this difference.

Notes

• Atrium Doors: The original handle set trim for Atrium doors (Euro Cylinder Version) will not work with this replacement. New trim is required.
• Marvin/Pease Doors: Original handle set trim with American Version lock has installation screw hole spacing of 6-3/8 inches. This trim will work with minor modifications—the lock body cylinder hole where the bottom screw goes through may need to be slightly enlarged with a rasp. Some Pease doors had different bore hole spacing with 2-3/8 inch wide handle set trim; contact us if this applies to your door.
• Latch Reversal: To change handing, lift the lever to extend the deadbolt and hooks, pull the spring latch out, rotate to the correct position, and check function before closing the door.
• Lock Operation: This lock has an anti-slam/mishandling latch that needs to be pushed in to operate. To lock, lift the handle to extend the deadbolt and other locking positions, then turn the thumbturn to secure. To unlock, turn the thumbturn or key to the unlocked position and push down on the lever.
