Amesbury P2000 Multipoint Lock Kit – 45/92, 20mm Faceplate (499060019-KIT)

This Amesbury P2000 multipoint lock kit is designed as a replacement option for the discontinued old style GU 20/50/92 shootbolt multipoint lock (part number 4990319). The original GU shootbolt lock featured a 20mm faceplate, 50mm backset, and 35-inch handle height. This replacement kit uses a 45mm backset instead of the original 50mm, with a difference of slightly more than 3/16 inch between the two.

The latch and deadbolt positions on this new style lock differ from the original by approximately 1/4 to 3/8 inch. This means the existing strike will likely not align properly without modification.

Strike Adjustment Options

You have several options to address the strike alignment:

  • Best recommendation: Enlarge the holes in the existing strike to accommodate the new latch and deadbolt locations
  • Alternative option: Move the new lock up 1/2 inch to 7/16 inch, allowing the strike to remain in place. The bottom shootbolt is adjustable, so this is not an issue. This would change the handle height to 35-1/2 inches and may expose screw holes from the old trim. Holes can be covered using a 2 x 12 inch trim plate
  • Least recommended: Move the strike. This is not highly suggested since it leaves marks on the jamb and is problematic for vinyl doors
